Q: How long is your cosmetology program?
A: Our cosmetology program takes approximately seven months, though this may vary slightly based on student performance.
Q: What do you provide in the student kit?
A: Our student kit includes all necessary tools – mannequins, blow dryer, scissors, brushes, etc. – state exam books, and specialized Vidal Sassoon workbooks and DVDs.
Q: When do I get the opportunity to practice on a real person?
A: After 12 weeks of learning the basic principles of haircutting on mannequin heads, you will advance to the senior floor where you'll be working with clients under the supervision of our licensed educators.
Q: What are the graduation requirements?
A: To graduate, you must complete 1,000 state-required hours and remain in good academic standing. You must also meet all of your financial obligations to Beauty Culture Academy.
Q: When can I start school?
A: Beauty Culture Academy has an open enrollment policy and programs are offered continuously. Classes start approximately on a six-week rotation. Please consult with the Registrar regarding specific start dates.
Q: Do I need to have a high school diploma?
A: Yes. A high school diploma, GED, or its equivalent is required to enroll at our academy.
